Ladysbridge, Banffshire
Ladysbridge is a village in Banffshire. The name originates from a historic bridge across the Burn of Boyndie. Lady's Bridge station opened in 1859, renamed Ladysbridge station in 1886. Banff County Lunatic Asylum was established in 1863 and renamed Ladysbridge Hospital several years later. It closed in 2003 and converted into housing called "Ladysbridge House". Considerable housing development has taken place around the former hospital, known as "Ladysbridge Village". The village is within the council area of Aberdeenshire.
