Kirkbymoorside, Yorkshire
Kirkbymoorside is a small market town in Yorkshire, in the North Riding. It lies to the south of the North York Moors. The town is noted as "Chirchebi" in Domesday Book (1086). It has served as a trading hub at least since 1254, when it became a market town. Two ancient coaching inns are extant, the Black Swan and the George and Dragon. The town is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
