Kingswinford, Staffordshire
Kingswinford is a town in Staffordshire, on the western edge of the Black Country. It is listed in Domesday as a possession of the king named 'Suinesford'. It retained a rural character well into the 20th century,, since when it has seen large-scale suburban development. However, open countryside (green belt) still lies to its west. The church of St Mary dates from the 11th century. The Cross Inn dates from at least 1750. The town is within the council area of Dudley.
