Kingsbury, Middlesex

Kingsbury is a suburban village and ancient parish in Middlesex. It was listed in Domesday as 'Chingesberie'. The main settlement of the parish was once around Blackbird Hill around Old St Andrew's Church, which dates from the 12th century. By the 15th century the hamlet at Kingsbury Green had become the main settlement. From 1900-1934, for local government purposes, the parish was the basis of the Kingsbury urban district, during which time it saw large-scale suburban development.
