Kilve Chantry, Somerset
Kilve Chantry is the remains of a chantry founded in 1329 near Kilve, Somerset. The chantry was dissolved in the late 14th century. This monument includes the chantry chapel and part of a manor house situated on a low coastal rise overlooking Bridgewater Bay at Kilve Pill. The chapel, along with the solar and east and northern wings of the manor house survive as partially standing roofless buildings with some original windows and stepped angle buttresses. The buildings are partly attached to the hall range of the manor house which remains occupied. The monument is within the council area of Somerset.
