Killycomain, Armagh
Killycomain (aka Killicomaine) is an urban area in the east of Portadown, County Armagh. It is within the townland of Killycomain, in the civil parish of Seagoe. Prior to the mid 20th century, Killycomain townland remained largely rural. Killycomain House (aka Irwin's Castle) dates from at least as far back as the early 19th century, but was enlarged with an Italianate tower and two storey wing in the 1880s. The townland saw significant housing development from the 1950s. Killicomaine Baptist Church was built in 1950. Killicomaine Junior High School opened in 1958. The area is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
