Kidderminster, Worcestershire
Kidderminster is a market town standing on the River Stour in northern Worcestershire. It is listed in Domesday as 'Chideminstre'. Charles I granted the Borough of Kidderminster a Charter in 1636. The town was a major centre for cloth manufacturing, particularly specialising in carpet-making from the late 18th century. The Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal, opened in 1771, runs through the town. The town is within the council area of Wyre Forest (Worcestershire).
