Keynsham, Somerset
Keynsham is a market town in Somerset. It lies at the confluence of the rivers Chew and Avon. The area has been occupied since prehistoric times and may have been the site of the Roman settlement of Trajectus. It was listed Domesday as Cainesham. It became a mediæval market town, after Keynsham Abbey was founded around 1170. It is within the council area of Bath and North East Somerset.
