Kernan, Armagh

Kernan is a former village that is now a suburban area in the north-east of Portadown, County Armagh. It is within the townland of Kernan, in the civil parish of Seagoe. The village lay around the main junction near the centre of Kernan townland. With the development of the area for suburban housing from the 1980s, all trace of the village, even its road alignments, has been lost. Kernan Cemetery opened in 1989. The area is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
