Kensal Town, Middlesex

Kensal Town (sometimes still known by its original name of Kensal New Town) is an urban area in North Kensington, Middlesex. It was laid out from 1840 and lies between the Grand Union Canal and the main railway line to Paddington. Originally part of an enclave of the parish of St Luke's, Chelsea, it was incorporated into the parish and metropolitan borough of Kensington in 1900. The area was substantially redeveloped after the Second World War. The area is within the council area of Kensington and Chelsea.
