Kensal Green is an urban area that lies at the northern end of North Kensington, Middlesex. Kensal Green was one of the eight manors of Willesden, lying at the southern extent of the parish. The green itself was a prominent feature at the junction of Harrow Road and Kilburn Lane. The green was enclosed in 1823 and cottages built on the plots created. The opening of All Souls Cemetery (now Kensal Green Cemetery) and the coming of the railways in the 1830s saw Kensal Green expand from a village into a suburb. St John the Evangelist Church was consecrated in 1844. The area is within the council area of Brent.
