Kempston, Bedfordshire
Kempston is a small town in Bedfordshire, lying along the south bank of the Great Ouse. Once a rural parish, from 1870 developers began to develop "Kempston New Town" on the Kempston-Bedford road. Historically settlement was divided between a number of hamlets called "Ends" (Up End, Bell End, Wood End and Box End) which then coalesced into a larger settlement. The town is within the council area of Bedford.
