Kells, Antrim
Kells is a village, lying on the south bank of the Kells Water in County Antrim. It is within the townland of Kells, in the civil parish of Connor. The village has a long history of textile manufacturing. The trade was introduced by the Augustian Order who established an abbey here around the 12th century. Ruins of the abbey, dissolved in 1542, remain within the grounds of the continuing Templemoyle Mills. The village is within the council area of Mid and East Antrim.
