Kelham Island, Yorkshire

Kelham Island is an urban locality in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. Kelham Island is a man-made island created in the 12th century by the construction of a mill race which diverted water from the River Don to power a corn mill. The area has been a centre of industry ever since and now houses the Kelham Island Museum. It is within the council area of Sheffield.
