Jordanstown is a former village that is now a suburban area in Newtownabbey, County Antrim. It is within the townland of Jordanstown, in the civil parish of Carnmoney. Prior to the opening of Jordanstown Railway Station in 1853, the Jordanstown townland was almost entirely rural. From the mid 19th century limited development spread from around the railway station and also up the coast from Whiteabbey. St Patrick's Church (C of I) was consecrated in 1868, designed by W.H. Lynn and built from white sandstone in a 10th-century style. The instigation of the new town of Newtownabbey in 1958 saw large-scale suburban development. The area has a beach and seafront park area called Loughshore Park. The Jordanstown area is within the council area of Antrim and Newtownabbey.
