Jodrell Bank, Cheshire

Jodrell Bank is a hamlet in Cheshire. The hamlet, which lies on the A535, is named from a rise in the ground close to Jodrell Hall. The hamlet has given its name to the Jodrell Bank Observatory which developed from University of Manchester botany experimental grounds opened adjacent to the hamlet in 1939. It is within the council area of Cheshire East.
