Isle of Lewis, Ross-shire
The Isle of Lewis is the northern part of the island of Lewis and Harris, the largest island in the Outer Hebrides, Lewis lying entirely within Ross-shire. Though one land-mass, Lewis and Harris are generally referred to as though separate islands. Lewis is home to an assortment of flora and fauna, including golden eagles, red deer and seals. Stornoway, the largest settlement on the Outer Hebrides, lies on Lewis. The Isle of Lewis is within the council area of Na h-Eileanan an Iar.
