Inverkeithing, Fife

Inverkeithing is a town and royal burgh in Fife, on the Firth of Forth. The town is a port and has been since time immemorial. It was given burgh status by King David I (1124–53) in the 12th century. In the modern age it became a shipbreaking centre. The town is within the council area of Fife.
