Inner Temple, Middlesex

Inner Temple is an Inn of Court in London, Middlesex. It is located in the wider Temple area. As a liberty, it functions largely as an independent local authority. The Inner Temple was a distinct society from at least 1388, although its precise date of founding is not known. Inner Temple, along with the three other Inns of Court, is recognised as being among the world's most prestigious professional bodies of judges and lawyers. Whilst within the council area of the City of London, both the Inner Temple and the Middle Temple are liberties, effectively forming independent enclaves within the city.
