Hurst Park, Surrey

Hurst Park is an urban area in West Molesey, Surrey. The area, on the south bank of the Thames, was formerly known as Moseley Hurst. In the 18th and 19th centuries it was famous for cricket, prizefighting and other sports. One of cricket's most famous paintings is Cricket at Moulsey Hurst by Richard Wilson (1780). It was the site of Hurst Park Racecourse from 1890-1962. It is within the council area of Elmbridge (Surrey).
