Hurlingham, Middlesex

Hurlingham is a riverside area in Fulham, Middlesex. The area is named from the early 19th century neo-Classical Hurlingham House and the Hurlingham Club, the birthplace of polo, which opened there in 1869. Surrounding the historic clubhouse and the sporting facilities are fine ornamental grounds extending to the banks of the River Thames. The area is within the council area of Hammersmith and Fulham.
