Hounslow, Middlesex

Hounslow is a town in Middlesex. Hounslow grew around the Holy Trinity Priory founded in 1211. After priory was dissolved in 1539, the town remained an important staging post on the Bath Road. The opening of the Hounslow Loop Line in 1850 and the construction of the Great West Road in the 1920s both led to periods of urban development. Hounslow Heath was infamous for its highwaymen and footpads. The town is within the council area of Hounslow.
