Hopkinstown, Glamorgan

Hopkinstown is a former mining village lying on the north bank of the River Rhondda in Glamorgan. It was developed from around 1850. The first performance of Cwm Rhondda was made by its composer John Hughes on Sunday 1st November 1907 at Capel Rhondda in Hopkinstown. The village is within the council area of Rhondda Cynon Taf.
