Holwell Castle is a Norman motte-and-bailey castle near Parracombe, Devon. Holwell Castle is situated on the spur of a hill overlooking the River Heddon. The monument survives as a large circular motte surrounded by a partially buried outer ditch with an additional D shaped bailey defined by a rampart and ditch. The castle is believed to have been built either by Robert Fitzmartin or by Martin de Tours, the first Lord of Paracombe. It is within the council area of North Devon (Devon).
