Holsworthy, Devon
Holsworthy is a historic market town in the north-west of Devon. It is recorded in Domesday as 'Haldeword'. It was a significant market town by the end of the 12th century. St Peter's Fair, held annually in July, was granted in 1614 by a charter from James I. The 13th-century Church of St Peter and St Paul remains a central landmark, featuring earlier Norman elements. The town is within the council area of Torridge (Devon).
