Holmfirth, Yorkshire
Holmfirth is a town in Yorkshire, in the West Riding. The town stands in the Holme Valley at the point where the Rivers Holme and Ribble meet. Holmfirth is well known as the location for the long-running situation comedy Last of the Summer Wine. Pioneering film-making company Bamforth & Co Ltd was founded in Holmfirth in 1970. The town mostly consists of stone-built cottages and, thanks to its TV associations, is a major tourist spot. The town is within the council area of Kirklees.
