Hither Green, Kent

Hither Green is a former hamlet that is now a suburban area in the east of Lewisham, Kent. The area saw large-scale suburban development after the opening of Hither Green station in 1895 and the opening of the Park Fever Hospital in 1897. The area is characterised by late Victorian and Edwardian domestic architecture. Though the hospital has been demolished, its clock-faced water tower remains a local landmark. It is within the council area of Lewisham.
