Hillsborough Courthouse, Down
Hillsborough Courthouse is a Georgian market house, and later a courthouse, situated in The Square in Royal Hillsborough, County Down. It is within the townland of Hillsborough, in the civil parish of Hillsborough. Initially solely a market house, the earliest part is thought to have consisted of the two-storey central block surrounded by a single-storey arcade and been built around 1760-1780. It was extended around 1810-20 and its use as a court house dates from this period. It is considered one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in Ireland. It is within the council area of Lisburn and Castlereagh.
