Hillsborough, Yorkshire
Hillsborough is a suburb in the north-west of Sheffield, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. The suburb is named from Hillsborough House built in 1779 and named in tribute to the Earl of Hillsborough. The area was built up in the period following the great Sheffield Flood of 1864. Hillsborough Stadium, home of Sheffield Wednesday FC, lies at the north end of the suburb. It is within the council area of Sheffield.
