Higher Brixham, Devon
Higher Brixham is a former village that now forms the southern part of the town of Brixham. Previously an agricultural community known as 'Cowtown', Higher Brixham has been contiguous with the part of the town around the harbour since the 19th century. The Church of St Mary the Virgin (C of E) dates from about the 15th century, replacing a previous Norman building, itself believed to have been built on the site of a Saxon church. Higher Brixham is within the council area of Torbay.
