Highams Park, Essex

Highams Park is an urban area in the north of Walthamstow, Essex. Hale End station opened in 1873 and was renamed Highams Park & Hale End station in 1894 at the request of the Warner family, owners of the Highams estate which lay to the east of Hale End. The suburban area which developed to the west of the station became known as Highams Park, though significantly distant from the estate from which its name derived. The area is within the council area of Waltham Forest.
