Hexham, Northumberland
Hexham is an ancient market town in Northumberland. The town is dominated by Hexham Abbey, whose stones incorporate an early Anglo-Saxon crypt from the monastery founded by Wilfrid in 674. Other notable buildings are the Moot Hall, the covered market, and the Old Gaol. The town is within the council area of Northumberland.
