Heronsgate, Hertfordshire

Heronsgate is a village in Hertfordshire. The village was founded in 1846 as O'Connorville by Fergus O' Connor MP and the Chartist Cooperative Land Company, with the aim of resettling industrial workers from the cities on smallholdings. The village has also previously been known as Herringsgate. It is within the council area of Three Rivers (Hertfordshire).
