Herne Hill, Surrey
Herne Hill is a suburban area in the north-west of larger metropolitan district of Dulwich, Surrey. By the mid-19th century, the area had become a prosperous suburb for the merchant class. The area was rapidly developed with terraced streets following the opening of Herne Hill railway station in 1862. The area is within the council areas of Southwark and Lambeth.
