Henley Bridge, Berkshire / Oxfordshire

Henley Bridge is a late 18th-century road bridge across the River Thames connecting Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire with Remenham Hill, Berkshire. This point of the Thames has been used for crossing since ancient times. A stone bridge was built by Henry II in the 1170s. The road bridge of 1786 was designed by William Hayward and incorporated the easternmost span of the 12th-century bridge. The carved keystones were by the sculptor Anne Seymour Damer. The bridge is within the council areas of Wokingham and South Oxfordshire (Oxfordshire).
