Helsbury Castle, Cornwall
Helsbury Castle is an Iron Age hill fort, situated on Michaelstow Beacon near Michaelstow, Cornwall. The hillfort survives as an oval enclosure measuring approximately 560ft long by 525ft wide internally, defined by a rampart of up to 13ft high and a partially buried outer ditch. Within the fort are the remains of a mediæval chapel, possibly dedicated to St Syth. Also within the fort are the remains of a possible tower or beacon which survives as a small mound. It is within the council area of Cornwall.
