Helen's Bay, Down
Helen's Bay is a village, located on the north coast of County Down. It is within the townland of Ballygrot, in the civil parish of Bangor. The bay itself was named after the literary figure Helen Blackwood, Baroness Dufferin and Claneboye, by her son Frederick Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, first Marquess of Dufferin and Ava, and owner of the Clandeboye Estate. Following the arrival of the railway in 1863, the Marquess developed the area as a luxury holiday resort. The village is within the council area of Ards and North Down.
