MenuHeiferlaw Tower, Northumberland
Heiferlaw Tower is a ruined, roofless pele tower in Northumberland. The tower was built in the 15th century by the monks of Alnwick Abbey and its elevated location allowed to serve as a look-out tower in case of raids by reivers or invaders. It also seems to have been the accommodation for a tenant farmer of the Abbey's. It is a large squared-stone three- storey roofless tower 23 feet high, measuring 24 feet by 29 feet externally. It is located three miles north of Alnwick. It is within the council area of Northumberland.
