Haughmond Abbey, Shropshire

Haughmond Abbey is a ruined, mediæval, Augustinian monastery near Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Founded in the early 12th century, it was a substantial, successful and wealthy house until the Dissolution. The buildings then fell into disrepair and the church was largely destroyed. The remains are in the care of English Heritage. It is within the council area of Shropshire.
