Hatfield, Old, Hertfordshire

Old Hatfield is an urban area in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Old Hatfield is the original village of Hatfield, to the east of the 20th century new town developments. Hatfield House is a country house set in a large park, the Great Park, on the eastern side of the town. The present Jacobean house, a leading example of the prodigy house, was built in 1611 by Robert Cecil, Chief Minister to James I. Old Hatfield is within the council area of Welwyn Hatfield (Hertfordshire).
