Harringay, Middlesex

Harringay is an urban area in the south-east of Hornsey, Middlesex. The area was developed on and around the estate of Haringey House, which lay to the south-east of the village of Hornsey, after its demolition in the 1890s. The area to the west of Green Lanes was initially known as Harringay Park. The eastern part of this actually lay in the parish of Tottenham. During the 20th century, the area either side of Green Lanes became known as just 'Harringay'. It is within the council area of Haringey.
