Hampton, Kent

Hampton is an urban area at the west end of Herne Bay, Kent. The village of Hampton-on-Sea was developed from 1879 by land agents but was abandoned in 1916 and lost to the sea in 1921. The current area of Hampton lies to the east of the site of the lost village. It is within the council area of Canterbury (Kent).
