Hamilton, Leicestershire

Hamilton is a deserted mediæval village (DMV) to the north-east of Leicester, Leicestershire. The village site at Hamilton is exceptionally well preserved and includes a moated site and a fishpond contained within the village earthworks. The village was deserted in the 15th century. The name 'Hamilton' has also been used for a nearby suburban housing estate in the north-east of Leicester. The village site is within the council area of Charnwood (Leicestershire).
