Halifax, Yorkshire
Halifax is a large town in Yorkshire, in the West Riding. Halifax was famed as a centre of Britain's woollen manufacture from the 15th century onward. The town became internationally famous for its Mackintosh chocolate and toffee , the Halifax Building Society and the nearby Shibden Hall. The town is within the council area of Calderdale.
