Hale End, Essex
Hale End is a former hamlet that is now a suburban area to the north-east of Walthamstow, Essex. The hamlet developed in a clearing in Epping Forest and still lies along the western edge of a southern outpost of the forest. It became suburbanised after the opening of Hale End railway station (later Highams Park station) in 1873. It is within the council area of Waltham Forest.
