MenuGryme's Dyke, Essex
Gryme's Dyke is a probable early Roman linear boundary earthwork, located two miles west of Colchester town centre in Essex. It is considered to have been constructed in the years immediately after the Roman invasion of AD 43 in order to consolidate the western perimeter of the settlements and military encampments positioned to the west of Colchester. It is within the council area of Colchester (Essex).
