Greatstone-on-Sea is a village on the coast of Romney Marsh in Kent. The name is taken from the Great Stone, a shingle headland since eroded by coastal changes. By the 1920s the area was predominantly covered by sand dunes with a few scattered dwellings, known as the Greatstone Dunes Estate. The planned holiday resort of Greatstone-on-Sea did not materialise and the village did not significantly develop further until the 1960s and 1970s. St Peter's Church was built in the 1960s. The village is within the council area of Shepway (Kent).
