Great Linford, Buckinghamshire

Great Linford is a village in Buckinghamshire. The first reference to Linford dates from 944. The village grew in importance following construction in 1800 of the Grand Junction Canal and associated wharf to serve Newport Pagnell. Since the 1970s Great Linford has formed a part of the new town of Milton Keynes, a district and a civil parish of which bear its name. The village is within the council area of Milton Keynes.
