Gosforth, Northumberland
Gosforth is a large suburban area in the north of Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland. The area developed separately from Newcastle upon Tyne, being the location of several collieries in the 19th century. The modern day centre of Gosforth originated in 1826 as a settlement known for several decades as Bulman Village. Gosforth contains several residential districts including Bridge Park, Brunton Park, Coxlodge, Gosforth Park, Grange Park, Greystoke Park, Grove Park, Kingston Park, Melton Park, Newcastle Great Park, South Gosforth, and Whitebridge Park. Gosforth is within the council area of Newcastle upon Tyne.
