Gortmore, Tyrone
Gortmore is an urban area in the north-west of Omagh, County Tyrone. It is within the townland of Gortmore, in the civil parish of Drumragh. The eastern part of Gortmore townland, on the west bank of the River Strule, was developed as part of Omagh during the 18th century. The area became the site of Omagh Gaol in 1804. The rest of the townland remained rural until development spread along the Derry Road during the 20th century. The area is within the council area of Fermanagh and Omagh.
